My guy at Toyota says its know internally as the "hand built anchor". Granted its MASSIVELY underrated (276 rated, actual is closer to 330) and it was designed primarily to be smooth and torquey, it makes peak torque pretty much off idle and there is lots of it.

Trouble is, I would be the first and I'm not that mechanically confident. Or I should say, it would be a HUGE project for me to tackle. I'm confident it would get done...eventually...but this is my DD, so it would be tough to deal with.
